Cambridge Community Fire/EMS District is a combination department comprised of full-time, part-time, and volunteer/paid-on-call staff. Licensed at the paramedic level, we are able to provide the highest level of pre-hospital care available to the members and visitors of the community. We have Paramedics, AEMTs, and EMTs on staff that are highly trained through the Emergency Medical Services Physician Specialist, S.C. as medical direction.
We serve approximately 102 square miles in Dane and Jefferson Counties with an estimated population of 8,000. Our district includes the Village of Cambridge, Village of Rockdale, Town of Christiana, Town of Lake Mills and Town of Oakland. Our district also includes Lake Ripley, Jefferson Speedway, and CamRock County Park. More than 500,000 commuters per week travel on US Hwy 12, US Hwy 18, WI Hwy 73, and I-90/39 in our district.
Cambridge Community Fire/EMS District has 2 stations, Station 1 is located at 271 W Main Street. Station 2 opened in February of 2024, which is located at 603 E Lake Street in Lake Mills.
We go on approximately 800+ medical, traumatic, and fire emergencies per year. With every passing year, we are seeing an increase in call numbers and a higher need for advanced prehospital medical services. We transport our patients to many local hospitals, including St. Mary's Madison, Unity Point Meriter, UW Hospital, Fort Atkinson, and Stoughton. Within this network of hospitals, our patients have access to level 1 and level 2 trauma centers, comprehensive stroke and heart attack care, and pediatric specialists.
We are honored and privileged to be able to provide care to the community and visitors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year.
A simple way to save lives is with hands-only CPR. No need to perform mouth to mouth ventilation. Chest compressions are all that is needed to save someone's life!
Blood loss is the leading cause of death from a traumatic injury. This class can give you the knowledge to know how to help control blood loss in an attempt to save a life.
